Foster Grandparent Programs (FGP) offers people age 55 and older the opportunity to have direct interaction with disadvantaged or disabled youth. FGP volunteers offer emotional support to children of abuse and neglect, tutor elementary school students with low literacy skills, and care for premature infants and children with physical disabilities and severe illness. Income eligible Foster Grandparents receive a modest stipend to help offset the cost of volunteering.
